Our Woods

We have car parking along the track to our club house, no more tows on wet days, which is patrolled when we have an open shoot. The ground is gently sloping, with no ropes or bridges made of pallets anywhere on the course. It never gets very muddy or dangerous and is suitable for archers who find some of the more "rugged" courses a little trying. The forest itself is a mixture of broad leaf and coniferous trees and is very picturesque indeed,

The Course

We have a permanent course with 4 loops  laid out for club members use at any permitted time. In addition we have a number of practice or warm-up targets close to the clubhouse.

For Open Shoots we can extend the course to provide 40+ targets of varying distance and difficulty.

Our Indoor Home

During the winter, when it is too dark to shoot outside, we shoot at The Dukeries Leisure Centre, Main Rd, Boughton, Newark NG22 9JJ  on Tuesday evenings from 7pm until 9pm. This gives our members a chance to socialise, keep their muscles and technique up and to re-tune the bows for the Winter and Spring seasons

Shooting Times

Summer season starts 17th May.

We have access to our shooting grounds in Sansom Wood from dawn to dusk on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday (no coaching on Thursday) and Bank Holidays.

Winter season starts September

In the winter in addition to the days and times above we also shoot indoors on a Tuesday evening from 7 till 9pm at The Dukeries Leisure Centre, Main Rd, Boughton, Newark NG22 9JJ
